I was delivering a workshop the other day to a large global company at their head office. Everything went very well. SEO and local/location consultancy was the agenda. Their team new their stuff already which meant it was an altogether different session than if it was with a table full of learners.

This was a subject I just couldn’t avoid writing about so the moment I had 30 minutes (on a train would you believe) I gave it a bash. My girlfriend lives perilously close to Ealing, I have friends that live in Camden, Croydon and Enfield so it holds personal salience and particular grievance. I am a proud Englishman and to have such disgusting images ofEngland distributed worldwide embarrasses me to the point where I am close to yakking into my Starbucks mug.

As Google continues to quench its ever present thirst for information, it quietly rolls out another feature: Google Instant Preview! Google could once again be playing Devils advocate with click rates and impressions.

It’s been very hard to avoid the attention of the Apple iPad. It’s a lovely device (don’t stop reading yet, this isn’t another fanboy piece!) that brings a plethora of portable practicality. Blackberry has just announced their ‘Playbook’ tablet device which they state is targeted towards ‘busy working people’. The irony of Blackberry still fails to shock me. Samsung have their Galaxy Tab, Amazon have their Kindle and the likes of Acer, Toshiba, HP and others are expected to follow suit with their handhelds soon. Increasing volumes of mobile surfing are fostering a thirst for such devices. Though smartphones offer us a lot of Internet usability, a demand for uncompromised, desktop-like web surfing on the move is there! A place where the smartphone fails to deliver. I’ll refer to it as the ‘mobtop’ platform.
